"Meet the Maker" is our series of blog posts featuring the many artisans who make work for our shop! Today, we feature Darlene Rayburn, who teaches a number of our workshops offered here and also has a space in our artist studio room.

Darlene is a retired counselor and self-taught artist who has always loved creating. Her true passion is

abstract art, which she explores through many mediums: alcohol ink, india ink, pastels, encaustic, cold wax, watercolors, mixed media, acrylics, and collage. Darlene offers workshops in all of these mediums as well!

Darlene is married and has a grown daughter who lives in Chicago. In addition to being an artist at The Cheshire Union in Canandaigua, Darlene has artwork at Skaneateles Artisans in Skaneateles, the Windmill in Penn Yan, and Artizanns in Naples. Darlene is also a rotating artist with Ontario County Art Council and a member of Mill Art Gallery in Honeoye Falls.
