About Jan:

"Painting has become an important part of my life again. I had painted in high school but, did not pursue it. After graduation, life took me in a different direction. I hadn’t picked up a brush very often for over 32 years. In 2005, my adult daughters gave me what I needed to start again. It was slow going, but it felt good to be painting again.

In 2009, I started painting under the watchful eye of Pat Rini Rohrer at her gallery/studio in Canandaigua. Through the gallery I have taken classes and workshops from other great artists to help me improve and grow.

In 2011, I discovered Plein Air, the art of painting outside, painting what you see, the natural colors of the world.

I am a member of Ontario County Arts Council, Penn Yan Art Guild, The Dove Block, and Western Wayne Art Group.

So, whether I’m outside painting God’s beautiful creation or man-made structures, or in the studio painting from a reference photo, I am thankful for the opportunity to paint."
