THE CHESHIRE UNION
Marji Stevens
"I believe everyone has a gift that they are created to share. Creativity is not confined to art, or music, or writing. It can be how you view your world, how to solve problems and how you manage the struggles life hands us. I am a widow, and was a caregiver for 15 years. I was forced to stay home because of caregiving. I spent all my free time writing and illustrating. It is a blessing I know God has given me for the purpose of blessing others, too."
About the Artist
Marji Stevens started her artistic journey as a musician, travelling all over the world. After a severe accident, she was crushed to discover it affected her singing voice. However, once the music was silenced, Marji was launched into writing and art. Among her paintings displayed here at The Cheshire Union, she sells her books "Gifts from the Porch Swing" and "Secrets of The Stone Wall" as well as children's books such as "The Little Clock That Couldn't Tock" and "Baby Moose and the Shiny Red Fireman Hat". Marji is also an ordained minister and when she is not writing or drawing, she conducts women's retreats and seminars all over the northeast.
