About the Class

Students will learn how to use soft pastels to render a landscape use basic mark making, blending and layering. You may bring your own photo references (simple landscapes) or use the reference provided by the instructor. No prior experience necessary! Class is $35 and includes all supplies.

About the Teacher: ​

For 33 years, Neal Allen taught music in public schools. Now retired, Neal has explored the world of pastels, studying with several nationally and internationally acclaimed instructors including; Tony Allain, Micheal Chesley Johnson and Alain Picard as well as taking drawing and painting classes at the Munson Williams Proctor Institute. Neal is on the board for the Ontario County Arts Council and is a member of Pastel Society of Western New York and the Pastel Society of America.
