Intro to Gouache Painting

Join us for an introduction to gouache painting! What is gouache? Gouache paint is an opaque watercolor paint which dries with a matte velvety texture. It can be used transparently like watercolor, or with a bold application similar to acrylic paint. Its unique qualities work well with sketchbook journaling, card making, and mixed media projects.

Melissa Talma will lead this class. We will cover the basics of using gouache paint and it's unique qualities, color mixing with a limited palette, and brush techniques. Students will warm up with studies, then work from a reference photo or a small still life object. Objects and references will be provided to choose from, or you may wish to bring your own!

Class is $45 and includes all materials!
