April Langholtz
East of The Moon Inks
April Langholz has been an Rn for 13 years. When she isn't working or creating, she loves hiking and camping outdoors.
"I moved here in 2007 from Flagstaff, AZ to be closer to family. I miss the national forest terribly but I've been able to find a few spots here that aren't privately owned. I have a 12 year old son. He is my joy and also very creative!"
8 years ago, April discovered alcohol inks in a little art co-op in Long Lake.
"The owner gave me my first lesson and I have been obsessed ever since. I bought supplies and started practicing at home. Over the years I have discovered new techniques and how the inks blend and expand."
Today, April rents studio space here at The Cheshire Union and frequently teaches Paint and Sip classes where she shows students different alcohol ink techniques!
"Art is necessary for me. Expressing emotion through art is cathartic and also a huge sense of accomplishment. I love to teach because it's amazing to watch people discover how incredible the inks are. It's a fun process. I also tend to gravitate toward creative people, the artists at The Cheshire Union have become good friends."
